Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s easier than you might think to watch the 2023 Super Bowl LVII for free, even if you don’t have cable.

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched sports events in the United States each year, with close to 100 million people tuning in during the 2022 game. There are various ways to watch the game, as well as the amazing halftime performance and those hilarious ads. And some are completely free.

What You Need to Know About Super Bowl LVII

Super Bowl LVII will take place on February 12th, 2023, with the game scheduled to start at 3:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM ET. The whole event will be broadcast by FOX, with coverage scheduled to start an hour early.

This year, the NFL final features two-time champions Kansas City Chiefs and one-time winner Philadelphia Eagles. The game will take place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Halftime entertainment will be provided by beloved singer Rihanna, who will be making her return to the stage after a long hiatus.

How to Watch the 2023 Super Bowl for Free

We have already discussed how to watch the Super Bowl without cable, but we also want to show you how to do this for free. With the Super Bowl being broadcast by FOX this year, there are a few ways to go about watching the event without paying a cent.

The first thing to note is that you can watch the game for free over-the-air (OTA) with a TV antenna. Yes, we know—it’s not exactly online streaming—but it had to be said. Whether you already have an antenna or you’re planning to dip over to your closest superstore to get one, you can watch the Super Bowl for free by tuning into your local FOX affiliate.

Another way you may be able to watch the Super Bowl online without paying is through the FOX websites, such as FOXSports.com. Back in 2020, the last time FOX broadcast the Super Bowl, the event was streamed live without authentication requirements. FOX has not made any public announcements regarding this for the 2023 Super Bowl, but there’s a high chance it will offer this option once again.

If you don’t want to live in uncertainty until the big game starts, when you can actually check whether FOX Sports is streaming the game for free or not, you can also take advantage of free trials. YouTube TV (two weeks), fuboTV (one week), DirecTV Stream (five days), and even the NFL+ service all offer a free trial period of various lengths.

In order to do this, however, you should know that free trials are only available for new subscribers. If you’ve previously subscribed for any of these services, you should use a new email address. Thankfully, there are quick ways to set a new email address nowadays. Just remember to unsubscribe before the trial period is over, or you’ll end up paying.

Kick Back and Enjoy the 2023 Super Bowl!

We’re sure the game between the Eagles and the Chiefs will be an epic one, so we’re excited to see how it all plays out. And when the game is over, you can read about the players, how they’re doing, how they celebrated, and so on, through the best sports news apps currently out there.
