When you like something on Instagram, the algorithm automatically shows you more of the same. But there is a way to remove your likes on Instagram and we’ll show you how to do that.
How To See What You’ve Liked on Instagram
It’s likely that your opinions and interests have changed over time. This is why checking and managing your activity on Instagram can help you decide what is no longer relevant to you. To see what you’ve liked on Instagram:
- Click on your profile picture in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Click on the three vertical lines at the top of your profile page.
- Click on your activity.
- Go to Interactions.
Under Interactions, you’ll be able to see anything you’ve commented on, everything you’ve liked, any story replies you’ve made, and reviews you’ve submitted.
How To Delete Your Instagram Likes
If your Instagram feed is making you feel bad, or if you are simply bored by what you’re seeing, there are ways to change your experience on Instagram. You can start by un-liking old posts. This will help to customize your experience on the app.
If you would like to delete your Instagram likes, you can do that by clicking Likes under Interactions. Click Select in the top right-hand corner and select the posts you want to unlike. You can use the Sort & Filter option to sort through the posts. When you’re done selecting posts, tap Unlike at the bottom of the screen.
Why You Should Review Your Instagram Activity
Posts that you’ve interacted with in the past impact what you see on Instagram. Reviewing your Instagram activity will help the algorithm show you more of what feels authentic to you right now. For example, if you no longer like a certain influencer, removing your likes from their posts, will likely cut down their presence in your Instagram feed.
