How to Get the Best Deals on Video Games With Humble Bundle

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Buy games and donate to charity at the same time with Humble Bundle.

Finding a good game on sale can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Even if a game on sale piques your interest, sometimes you need an extra push to make the purchase.

What if we told you there was a way to get multiple games at a massive discount while also choosing where your money goes? Look no further, Humble Bundle is here!

What Is Humble Bundle?

Humble Bundle is a digital storefront that offers a limited-time selection of video game, book, and software bundles at massively discounted prices. The Humble Indie Bundle launched in 2010 and was the first of its kind. It let purchasers pay what they want for a bundle of indie games.

The bundle came with the games World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, Penumbra: Overture, and Samorost 2. Purchasing the bundle at any price above one cent would net buyers a Steam key that would activate all six games. Pretty sweet deal, right?

Humble Bundle has grown into something much larger over the years. Since 2010, Humble Bundle has released several successful bundles, including the Heal COVID-19 Bundle, which raised $1.2 million for charity. However, Humble Bundle’s latest bundles now come with a minimum price that has to be paid, which varies from bundle to bundle.

In addition to bundles, Humble Bundle now offers Humble Choice and the Humble Store. Humble Choice is a monthly subscription geared towards gamers that offers a variety of perks like free games, access to the Humble Games Collection, and discounts. On the other hand, Humble Store features thousands of games and is comparable to a platform like Steam.

How Humble Bundle Supports Charities

What makes Humble Bundle truly unique is its ability to offer games at a discount while also supporting charities. So, how does Humble Bundle do it? Most bundles come with a charity they support. For example, Humble Bundle’s Gems of 2022 Bundle supports the Global FoodBanking Network (GFN).

To purchase the entire seven-item bundle, you are looking at a minimum payment of $15.59. To put things into perspective, the Gems of 2022 Bundle would normally cost around $159.00. For every bundle purchased, 15-30% will go to the Humble Bundle team. That being said, you are free to divide the rest of your money however you see fit using the store’s sliders.

In this example, you could assign the remainder of your purchase to the GFN and send nothing to the games’ publishers, or vice versa. Additionally, while most Humble Bundles come with a specific charity they support, others allow you to pick from a selection of more than 35,000 charities.

If there aren’t any Humble Bundles that tickle your fancy, you can buy games individually through the Humble Store. Better yet, you can donate up to 10% of your purchase by opting into the Humble Rewards program. If you aren’t feeling charitable, you can add that 10% to your Humble Wallet and use it for future purchases instead.

Feel Good With Humble Bundle

Humble Bundle offers some of the best deals on video games, books, and software. More than anything, Humble Bundle gives you the power to choose where your money goes.

Whether you want to support a charity, your favorite publishers, or the Humble Bundle team, the choice is yours.
