9 Apple Products We’re Looking Forward to in 2023

Reading Time: 5 minutes

A new year means new Apple products to spend our hard-earned money on. So, here’s what you can expect from the Cupertino-based company in 2023.

Like every year, you can expect a ton of new products from Apple in 2023, and we know that you can’t wait to see them all. A brand-new mixed-reality headset, new Apple silicon-powered Macs, and the next generation of iPhones are only some of the things we’re hoping for.

So, while we patiently wait for the official release of these products, we can only speculate. So, here’s a look at what Apple may have in store for us in 2023.

1. 15-Inch MacBook Air

Everyone was blown away by the redesigned MacBook Air Apple launched in 2022, so it’s safe to say we’re pretty excited about a potential 15-inch model. As it stands, this MacBook will be the largest MacBook Air yet, with certain rumors telling us that it will measure an exact 15.2 inches.

As for the design, no drastic changes are expected compared to the current model in store shelves. Thin bezels, a slim profile, and flat edges are some traditional MacBook Air designs we’re hoping to see. There have also been rumors of a 1080p camera, MagSafe charging, and an upgraded speaker system.

What we’re really looking forward to is the chip that Apple plans to use. There has been speculation that the 15-inch MacBook Air will have both the M2 and M2 Pro chips. Unfortunately, no details of the M2 Pro chip have been leaked, so we’re pretty much in the dark.

2. iPhone 15

The year is never complete without the launch of a new iPhone series, and 2023 will be no less. Let’s look at what we can expect from the next generation of Apple iPhones.

Apple killed off the iPhone mini with the iPhone 14 series and replaced it with a much bigger iPhone 14 Plus model, so we’re likely to see the same lineup as the iPhone 14. However, there have been leaks of an iPhone 15 Ultra after Apple released its Apple Watch Ultra. Could the iPhone 15 Ultra just be another name for the iPhone 15 Pro Max or an entirely new model? We’ll have to wait a while to find out.

A marked change we can expect is the replacement of the Lightning Port with a USB-C. Moreover, there’s a slight chance Apple incorporates Dynamic Island into all the models. A new periscope camera lens is also expected in the iPhone 15 Pro models that can increase its zoom capability more than ever.

For a rough estimate, the current Pro models can zoom up to 3x with a telephoto lens, while the periscope lens may go up to as much as 10x.

3. Redesigned iPhone SE

The current iPhone SE 3 features thick bezels, a Home button, and an LCD. But with the iPhone SE 4, rumors suggest that Apple might cancel all of that out and release a redesigned iPhone SE with thin bezels, no Home button, and an OLED display to bring it up to mark with the flagship iPhones.

Leaks have strongly suggested that the iPhone SE 4 will strongly resemble the iPhone XR, with a 6.1-inch display and rounded edges. The phone might also have a notch, but we’re unsure if Face ID will be introduced to keep the costs down. Who knows, next year’s redesigned iPhone SE 4 might just be the budget-friendly phone you need.

4. HomePod 2

It’s been more than two years since the debut of the HomePod, so it’s about time for an upgrade. There’s not much we can tell you about the design since there’s no set template that’s usually followed, but rumors of an amazing smart display that resembles a mesh of an iPad and speaker are floating around.

While a HomePod with a display would definitely be a fun change, improvements in HomeKit are also expected, along with better audio hardware.

5. Bigger iPad Pro

Wait, did someone say 16-inch iPad Pro? Wow, that’s massive, especially as the biggest iPad yet sports a 12.9 inches measurement. Apple’s largest laptop currently features a 16-inch display, so the iPad Pro will equal that if it does release as rumored. How cool is that?

However, some analysts speak of a 14-inch display rather than a 16-inch one, while others are divided between the two. Apart from the size change, all other information about the next iPad Pro seems to be all over the place.

A switch to an OLED display and an M2 or M3 chip is among the various rumors. However, it is clear that the target audience for this product primarily includes professionals such as graphic designers that need a larger canvas to work on.

6. M2 Mac Mini

For those of you who don’t know, Mac Mini is Apple’s tiny desktop computer. Some design changes are expected for the next Mac Mini, including a smaller body, the addition of ports such as USB-C and Ethernet, more color options, the removal of its circular base, and even a replacement of the aluminum top. Lots to look forward to with this one, isn’t it?

The M2 Mac Mini will probably get an M2 chip, but recent speculation of the M2 Pro chip being featured has also surfaced. We can’t wait to see how this plays out in the end.

7. M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro Models

The updated version of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will probably come out in early 2023, but we’re not expecting any significant changes. Apple gave the MacBook Pro a major redesign in 2021, meaning the newer models will likely look similar for the most part.

However, we can expect upgraded internals for the models, with rumors of an M2 Max and M2 Pro chip standing strong. The M2 Max chip is expected to feature 64GB memory, along with a 12-core CPU and 38-core GPU. We don’t know much about the M2 Pro chip, but it’s safe to assume it will not be as powerful as the M2 Max.

8. iMac Pro With Apple Silicon

While plans for multiple new iMacs in 2023 have been indicated, the iMac Pro is the focus of attention for now, mainly because of the M3 chip that it’s likely to feature. Taking a step up from the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in the MacBook Pro, the iMac Pro is expected to be released with a brand-new M3 chip to top it all.

However, what the iMac Pro will look like is a little confusing as of now. Some say the iMac Pro will be a revival of the 27-inch iMac Pro model that was released in 2017 and discontinued in 2022, while others believe the iMac Pro will be an upgraded version of the 24-inch iMac launched in 2021. Industry experts also speculate that the iMac Pro might feature mini-LED and ProMotion, similar to the MacBook Pro.

9. Mixed Reality Headset

Apple’s take on virtual/mixed reality headsets is yet to arrive, so the rumors are sky-high for this one. People have anticipated the release of a mixed reality headset from Apple for years, and it looks like 2023 is the year it will finally see the light of day.

Since it’s going to be the first one there, we can’t speculate much, but what we do know about Apple’s headset is that it’ll likely cost an arm and a leg. Since it combines AR and VR, we can expect a lot of cameras, and some reports describe it as resembling a pair of ski goggles with a blend of different materials.

Will Apple Go Strong With Its Products in 2023?

Laptops, phones, desktops, speakers, headsets; you name it, Apple (almost) has it. The Cupertino-based company is set to release brand-new models of everything mentioned above, with new designs and faster processors.

We’re certainly looking forward to seeing how Apple plays its cards in 2023. Will it continue to remain at the top as the biggest and most valuable brand in the world? Only time will tell.
