A few trailers have already been released for his movie, but during The Game Awards, host Geoff Keighley gave Mario fans their first look at the upcoming movie's ‘straightforward’ movie. When’ shot.
Here's a short clip showing Mario making his Mushroom Kingdom debut on his way to Princess Peach's palace. Chris Pratt, who plays it in the film, can also be heard on a larger scale.
Seth Rogen will play Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen will play Grumpy King Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson will play Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco will play Spike.
Anya Taylor-Joy also joins Pratt as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Charlie Day as Luigi.

The second teaser trailer is to be released soon. The movie just came out, and fans of the game will love all the references, characters, and events in it.
Most importantly, if yesterday's leak and Nintendo's tweet hadn't already revealed it, we got our first glimpse of Princess Peach. The ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy, made a brief appearance on the live stream and seemed set to get in on the action the way she deserves.
As Rodekirby filmed on YouTube (with Dutch subtitles – no, we have nothing to do with Nintendo Life's subtitles!), the 30-second spot features brand new footage of Mario taking his first steps into the Mushroom Kingdom, where he For the first time his footsteps crossed his network of colorful pipes. It also gives us a better look at (well, listen to) Chris Pratt's version of Mario talking to Toad.
We're still trying to track down the trailer on Twitch to verify its provenance, but as you can see in Rodekirby's YouTube video above, it appears to be perfectly legit and appears randomly as an ad on the streaming platform.
The Super Mario Bros. movie is coming out soon, on April 7, 2023 (yes, it'll be here before you know it!).

However, it appears Nintendo is still keeping some secrets, as a new McDonald's promotion reveals an unreleased character. The information was provided by Twitter user @Kikaim, who recently uploaded a photo of the eight toys that will reportedly be released in Japan alongside the Happy Meal toys starting this month. Seven of the eight characters – Luigi, Peach, Toad, Donkey Kong, Bowser, and two different versions of Mario – are pretty self-explanatory.

Luma is a star-shaped creature that first appeared in Galaxy for the Wii and more recently in Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbit Spark of Hope as the seventh toy.
Rosalina's adopted child, Luma, can transform herself into all kinds of things, including entire galaxies. Her presence in the film may also foreshadow an appearance by Rosalina herself. However, given the blue color of the Luma, it doesn't seem like the more obvious Baby Luma, but we do expect that particular character to make an appearance as well.
