This skill is like the Mechanic skill, but the armor is the middle line of defense. Shield first, armor second, and structural last.
An Alpha capsuleer can obtain skill level V for Hull Upgrades, which is full mastery. This is a skill that will take twice as long as a base skill to learn. Intelligence and Memory are the main attributes for this skill as well.
Shield Management
‘Skill at regulating a spaceship's shield systems. 5% bonus to shield capacity per skill level.’
A shield's strength and recharge rate hinge on Shield Management, offering an additional layer of defense against enemy onslaughts. Mastery of this skill enables capsuleers to weather more damage before their armor is compromised, a decisive advantage in tactical encounters.
Another survivability skill, by adding 5% more hit points per skill level this skill makes it take longer for an enemy to destroy your ship. Again, the order of a capsuleer's defenses are: shields, armor, and finally structural.
An Alpha clone can master level IV in Shield Management and this is a skill that takes 3x longer to level than a standard skill. Intelligence and Memory are the main attributes.
Shield Operation
‘Skill at operating a spaceship's shield systems, including the use of shield boosters and other basic shield modules. 5% reduction in shield recharge time per skill level.’
Synchronized with Shield Management, this skill reduces capacitor consumption for shield modules, ensuring sustained shield protection. Capsuleers uphold their defenses for extended durations, maximizing their resilience in combat engagements.
By making a shield recharge faster, a capsuleer can increase the duration it takes for enemies to damage the ship. Again, a survivability skill – which are some of the most important skills in ‘EVE Online’.
Alpha clones can only learn this skill up to level IV and the attributes influencing Shield Operation are Intelligence and Memory.
