Tips and Strategies for New Enlisted Players
Enlisted is a free to play squad-based multiplayer first-person shooter set during World War II. The game offers a realistic and immersive experience, with a focus on teamwork and strategy. Players take on the role of soldiers of different classes and squads each with their own unique abilities and equipment. The game features a variety of maps based on real-life World War II locations, such as Omaha beach in Normandy, Berlin, Moscow, etc, and players can engage in intense battles across land, air, and sea.
In Enlisted, communication is key, as players must work together to achieve objectives and defeat the enemy. The game also features a high level of realism, with realistic bullet physics and a variety of authentic weapons and equipment.
Enlisted aims to provide players with an authentic World War II experience, with an emphasis on squads instead of individual soldiers, you control one soldier of your squad and the rest are contoled by the AI, while following your orders, It's a game that rewards team play and tactics, so if you're a fan of FPS games and you're looking for a new experience set on the World War II, Enlisted might be the game for you. Remember, it's free to play so you have nothing to lose!.
Tips and Tactics for New Enlisted Players (I Wish I Knew When I started Playing)
- Communicate with your team: Use your microphone or in-game chat to keep your team updated on enemy positions, objectives, and other important information. More importanly, ping enemy locations, the deafult button to do this, is the key ‘V’, this is vital to win a battle, don't underestimated what your teammates can do and keep marking enemy locations all the time, you might see mortar shells falling at the location you marked seconds ago or an artillery bombardment, you never know, always keep in mind that in Enlisted, teamwork is essential. Each class has a specific role to play, and you will need to work together to achieve your objectives.
- Learn the maps: Knowing the layout of the maps and the chokepoints will give you an advantage in battle. Study the maps and learn the best places to take cover, the best angles to attack from, and the best routes to objectives. Always attack from unexpected angles. This step will requiere some time to master but in time, you will know all the maps, at least from one campaign.
- Use cover: The game's realistic bullets physics, means that you will need to use cover to survive. Take advantage of the environment to protect yourself from enemy fire. Use buildings, walls, and other obstacles to your advantage.
- Focus your time on one campaign and one faction, in enlisted, there are several campaigns you can play, but the progress for each campaign is invidual, this means everything you unlock for the Normandy campaign can only be used there, this applies for factions too, including new squads, weapons, vehicles, etc. Chose you favorite campaign and faction and focus on that, for instance, I am leveling the Berlin campaign right now and using Soviet army exclusively, I recommend you to start in Normandy.
- Learn the mechanics of the game: Learn how to effectively use each weapon, equipment and vehicles. Learn when to reload your weapon, how to use the different types of grenades and other special equipment, for instance, Bolt action rifles and snipers (obviously) are better for long range, machines guns and flame throwers are better used mid to close range, etc. I definitelly recomend you to invest you requisition points (game currency) to buy anti-personal mines, as soon as you unlock them. as they are great for defending locations.
- Use the right squad for the job: Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each squad, and make use of them in the right situations. In Enlisted you are limited to 3 infantry squads and 1 Vehicle for each battle, so you better have a good combination of squads as you don't know what kind of battle you will face, you might have to defend or attack a location, or both, also, some squads are better for some location, for instance, a location with a lot of buildings is better suited for close to mid range weapons.
- Prioritize objectives: Focus on completing the objectives first before engaging in battles, it will increase the chances of success. I know its tempting to ‘farm’ kills but remember that winning battles gives a lot of experience and killing a lot of enemies will not ensure victory.
- Practice makes perfect: The more you play, the better you will become. Take the time to practice different tactics and squads and focus your time on the ones that are more fun to play for you. Forget about trying to identify what class is ‘overpower’ as I don't think there is any, all classes are well balanced and serve different purposes in my opinion, so you better focus your time considering the fun factor.
- Stay aware of the situation: Keep an eye on the mini-map to stay aware of enemy positions and movements and from time to time, and only when you are in a safe location, open the map (‘M’ by default) to check enemy and allies positions and also artillery bombardment locations.
- Have at least one engineer in each squad, as you level up your squads, you will be able to customize some of their members, engineers are always available, use them!. Engineers can build ‘rally points’ (among other useful things such as ammo boxes, sandbag walls, etc) that are extremely important and can change the outcome of any battle, this building allows you and your teammates to spawn there and ideally closer from objectives, always try to build them close to objectives and in safe locations, if you can't find a safe structure to build your rally point in, you can make a trench with your shovel and build the rally point there, thus lowering the chances that it gets destroyed by artillery strikes or airplane bombardments.
Have fun: Remember that Enlisted is a game and it should be fun. So don't take it too seriously and enjoy the experience with your team. I really hope you found this guide useful, Let me know if you have any question about this game I love, thanks for reading!.
