Google Pixel 7a announced at I/O 2023, and it’s available now
Reading Time: < 1 minutesPixel’s A-series is back, to no one’s surprise.
The best deal in the Android-verse is back.
At its annual Google I/O conference on Wednesday, Google showed off the new Pixel 7a smartphone. It launched on Wednesday for $500, a $50 price increase from last year’s model.
You can order it on Google’s website now.
It comes in four colors: white, black, blue, and orange.
Google Pixel 7a specs
Like previous Pixel A-series phones, the Pixel 7a is essentially a cheaper, mildly compromised version of the Pixel 7. It’s got the same metallic, horizontal camera bar (with a 64MP main lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens) that graced the Pixel 7, with a hole-punch selfie camera on the front.
Its 6.1-inch display can go up to 90Hz, making it the first Pixel A-series phone to go above 60Hz. It’s not quite the 120Hz you get on the Pixel 7 Pro, but it’s a nice addition, anyway.
Despite a $50 price hike, the Pixel 7a seems like it’ll still be one of the best values around for Android-heads. Cherish it now because there’s a chance this is the last A-series Pixel we get.
