Everything leaving PS Plus in September 2022 (so far)
As always, last month’s PS Plus essentials are leaving just before the new stuff starts rolling in. You can keep playing these games even after they leave PS Plus Essentials as long as you add them to your library before Sept. 5, and you have and active PS Plus subscription.
- Little Nightmares (PS4) – Sept. 5
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Cross-gen Deluxe Bundle (PS4, PS5) – Sept. 5
- Unrailed (PS4) – Sept. 5
- Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS4, PS5) – Sept. 5
Sony hasn’t announced which games (if any) will leave the Game Catalog or Classics collection this month, but they’ll likely announce those changes closer to Sept. 20.
Everything coming to Xbox Game Pass and Games with Gold in September 2022
There are four free games available for Xbox Games Pass and/or Games with Gold this month.
Starting Sept. 1, you can add the tough Dark Souls-inspired action RPG Gods will Fall and amusement park management sim Thrillville to your Xbox One or Series X/S game library.
Then, two more games will join on Sept. 16: Double Kick Heroes—an arcade-style scrolling shoot-em-up with a heavy metal vibe—and the Xbox 360 version of Portal 2. Portal 2 is a notable addition, since Microsoft previously announced September is the last month to include Xbox 360 games in the Games with Gold monthly lineup. Considering Portal 2 is one of the best games ever made, it’s a worthy final addition from the console library, plus you get to play it with the Xbox One and Series X/S’s backward compatibility enhancements.
Remember to add Games with Gold games to your library during the dates they’re available if you want to keep playing them after they’re removed.
Several games are also joining the rotating Game Pass catalog in September as well, including the beloved space-exploration game Outer Wilds on September 15 for Xbox Series X/S owners. The much-anticipated adventure game Slime Rancher 2 also joins the catalog for free on its release date, Sept. 22. Check the lists below for the full roster.
