Thankfully, TikTok has a video views counter that lets you know the number of people that have seen your videos, including the number of viewers who actually watched them till the end.
But, can you see who views your TikToks? In this article, we’ll cover video views on TikTok and find out what information you can actually see about your viewers.
How the TikTok Video Views Feature Works
Going viral on TikTok involves several factors such as the number of video views you get in a short period. One view is counted when a user watches your video till the end without skipping or leaving. Each view in a looped video also counts as a single view.
On TikTok, you can see how many users have watched your videos. Previously, in addition to seeing your video views count, you could also see a user’s username. But this is no longer the case.
Now, you may only view their demographics using TikTok’s analytics tool. But you can also see who has viewed your TikTok profile using the profile views feature.
So what if you want more information about these video views? TikTok Analytics allows you to get an overview of your videos’ engagement and other key insights.
What TikTok Analytics Can Tell You about Your TikTok Videos
TikTok Analytics covers four broad categories: Overview, Content, Followers, and LIVE. Here’s a summary of what you can expect to find under each category…
- Overview: Video views, Profile views, Likes, Comments, Unique viewers, and Shares.
- Content: Video views, Likes, Comments, Shares, and Favorites including Total Play Time, Average Watch Time, Watched full video, and New followers, among others.
- Followers: Total followers, Net followers, Follower insights, and Most active times.
- LIVE: LIVE Analytics, Viewer ranking, Highest Gift count, Top gifters, and Viewer ranking, Highest watch time, Top viewers, Replays and Violations.

Note that you can only see analytics for videos you posted after you turn on the analytics feature.
How to Use TikTok Analytics For Your TikTok Videos
To use TikTok Analytics, you’ll need to have at least one public video and either a Creator or a Business Account. With that out of the way, here’s how to start using TikTok Analytics.
- Open TikTok and tap on Profile.
- Tap on the hamburger menu button in the top-right corner.
- For this illustration, we’re using the Creator tools option. So, tap on Creator tools.
- Tap on Create video and create a public video if you haven’t created one already.
- Tap on Analytics.
- Tap on the Turn on button.
- Tap on Video views under the Engagement tab. Alternatively, tap on Content and tap on the video in question. You should now be able to see the Total Play Time, Average Watch Time, Watched full video, New followers, Retention rate, and Traffic source.
- For viewers-specific insight, tap on the Viewers tab. Here’s where you can see specific data for Total viewers, Gender, Age, and Top locations.
Seven days after you post your first video and activate TikTok Analytics, TikTok will start updating your analytics automatically. Without Analytics, you can only see the number of people viewing your videos without their demographics.
To see only a video’s views count, simply open the TikTok app and tap on your profile at the bottom-right of your screen.
You should now be able to see the number of people that have viewed your videos. Another easy way to do this is to view your videos or profile from another TikTok account.
